EIM Peanuts ... Plus

This week's Inchie challenge is the word "peanuts."  Here's mine (in singular):

The tangled tile was just for fun.  I started by drawing around a cork backed coaster to create the square (~ 4-inch). I may add more to the 8.5 x 11 sheet before calling the ZIA complete.  It's sometimes shocking what happens to color when taking photos for this blog.  The color of the paper on the above is almost a robin's egg blue.  Here it looks gray at best.

Diva Challenge 290 - Monotangle Shattuck

It's amazing that we're up to challenge #290!  Granted I did not start at #1, but 290 weeks of challenges is quite the accomplishment.  This week Laura challenged us to create a monotangle using the pattern Shatttuck by Sandy Steen Bartholomew.  Here's my version:

Have a great week!

EIM Door

Every Inchie Monday's word of the week is door.  Taking photos of doors and doorways has always been a favorite subject for me ... and while we were in Ireland (mentioned in last week's post) I had many opportunities to add to my collection.

This is the doorway to Trinity College in Dublin.  The "small" opening is the actual door through which you enter, but what an entrance!  We booked rooms on campus for our first few nights of vacation.  Excellent location and such a wonderful historical site.

These steps led down into the ancient Dublin castle.  The Vikings left their mark here.

This is another door at Dublin castle.  The "heads" on either side of the doorway were both beautiful and intriguing.  I didn't discover their story/significance.

Below, are just some of the doors of homes in Dublin.  I've seen calendars of the "Doors of Dublin."  Perhaps one of these was included.

And finally, the inspiration for my inchie this week was this door in a medieval building of Kilkenny's  old town.  Don't you just wonder who all has walked through that doorway?

Have a great week!

Diva Challenge 259 "Touch of Irish" and EIM Island

This week the Diva Challenge is to add some green or a "touch of Irish" to our tiles.  My husband and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary in Ireland three summers ago.  By the time we made the trip it was closer to our 31th anniversary, but I digress.

The wonderful thing about Ireland is that it is simply beautiful - always, in every direction.  And it is no wonder that we associate the color green with this island country, because it is so very green.

There was even evidence of early tangling at Newgrange (a stone age "passage tomb").  Well, not really - but pattern-making has always been around for a long time.

So, here's my "Touch of Green" tile.  A little green - a little whimsey.

And here's a little island for this week's inchie!

Have a great week and Happy St. Patrick's Day!

DC 258 Featuring Rautyflex and EIM Inchie Spaceship

Yesterday, before the challenge was issued, I'd drawn an example of Cruz on a tile.  I'd never drawn that pattern before and thought I'd give it a try.  When I got home after work and read the Laura's post, I thought that Rautyflex would make a very nice background to the tile I'd started.  Here's the result:

This week's inchie word is: spaceship.  My mind always goes first to the style of ship that would crash land into the ocean.  So that's what I've attempted to draw ... though still in space.  :)

Have a great week everyone.

Diva Challenge 257, EMI "Towel" and One More Heart

This week's Diva Challenge was given by guest blogger Amy Broady.  The challenge was to add some shine to our tangles.  I've added a little gold and silver gel pen ... it may be a little too subtle.

Every Monday Inchie's word of the week is towel.

Finally, I decided to do yet another heart.
