"Stones and Ceremony" is the theme this week by guest CZT Paula Bramante. I find it interesting how every week people take the challenge and latch onto what speaks to them. I immediately thought of the stone cairns I've seen when visiting places where people are walking or hiking. Is the ceremony "I was here!"? Tangles include: Hollibaugh, Arukas, Ornamato, Via, Tropicana, Fescu and Fassett. Have a great week!

Every Inchie Monday: Texture
This week's inchie is "texture." The first thing I thought of was woven cloth. It was more difficult to draw than I had imagined. Have a great week!

Diva Challenge 240
The Diva Challenge this week was Birthday Leaves (being inspired by the season and Artoo's birthday). I always find autumn to be inspiring. This year in New England the colors seemed to be more vibrant than ever. Fortunately, although the color is fading quickly, there are photos to remind us of the beauty.
I started by dipping my tile in freshly brewed tea and then adding a little red and orange watercolor while the tile was still wet. I'd never attempted tea dying and was quite pleased with the result.
Choosing a tangle for any project is frequently less than relaxing for me, but I finally settled on Yuma. Decided to use that single pattern as the background to my lone maple leaf. Happy Autumn!

Diva Challenge #239
This week's Diva Challenge was to use Molly Hollibough's tangle Munchin' on a black tile. I'm glad for this challenge, because I watched the video and learned how to do the tangle correctly. I like how the triangle point becomes quite dense. Since I didn't have any black tiles, I used the first black paper I could find which was the cover of a Moleskine notebook. I'm not sure the piece looks finished yet ... time will tell. Have a great week!
Every Inchie Monday: Key
The word this week is "key." Am thankful for a simple challenge. It's been a long stretch of too busy.

Every Inchie Monday: Lumberjack
When I hear the word lumberjack I always think of a statue of Paul Bunyan in Bemidji, MN. To attempt a drawing, I found the 1958 Walt Disney movie on YouTube ... don't think the likeness will break any copyright laws. Hahaha.
Diva Challenge #238
Tri-Bee was the tangle challenge of the week by Diva Laura. Decided to use color, then stumbled upon the idea of using little circles in colored pencil to simulate texture. Added pencil shading over that and a little Msst to complete the tile. Have a great week!

Diva Challenge #237
This week's challenge was by guest blogger Charlotte Carpentier. The challenge was to use a stencil and spray bottle with some type of coloring agent and create a string. This week was just too busy, so I decided to post a project I completed which used a stencil. (This was in a class of Suzanne Binnie, CZT.)
This was the assigned project:

Then, at the suggestion of my daughter, I "completed" the snowflakes by tangling the pattern "behind" the snowflakes.
The tangles were completed in blue and silver.
